I recommend that the focus of this situation MUST be on: - which marriage was legal? was bigamy committed? - "divorce settlement" for the mother. - financial support of her child till the legal age of 18 years - If the father is a "Canadian Citizen", rather than landed immigrant, then the child may qualify for the Canadian Citizen (being the offspring of a Canadian father). This will enable the child to settle in Canada if he so desires eventually. - At present the "punishment" of the father should rest with the Candian legal system solely. My understanding is that the mother is already pursuing the matter through a number of channels/ authorities. This does take a fair amount of time, so patience is essential. Harbhajan S. Sangha
