Tsunami Relief Mission at Campbell Bay Island with Fellow Sikhs

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh,

My name is Navneet Singh and I am from Atlanta. As a Volunteer for the Tsunami Relief Mission and the Director of UNITED SIKHS, I have come back home to USA after 12 weeks of volunteer work.

I wanted to submit some photos from the mission at Campbell Bay, where there are thousands of people suffering. What's even more sad to know is that there are over 1200 Punjabis and 300 Sikh families on that island in suffering. It will be a great appreciation if we can remember those people in need, we often forget the people who have survived that tragedy and are still facing life and death with the situations they are in.

My hope is that we as a community continue to keep them in our thoughts and keep praying to Waheguru to provide them strength to be in Chardikala.

Here are some pictures from a humble effort by the das to provide mental and emotional support to bring them back to normal life and help them through the rehabilitation process.

1.) DSC01295 - With a Sikh Family in Campbell Bay (Tsunami Survivors at Great Nicobar Islands - just 80 miles off the tsunami epicenter)

2.) DSC01051 - Organized a Sports day for all the children on the island. Happiness returned on the childrens faces, even if it was for a day, we were able to change their mindset to help them forget the tragedy and look towards the good parts of life.

3.) DSC01091 - With School Children in Campbell Bay after organizing Sports Day for all the children on the Island.

4.) DSC00230 - In Cuddalore, a District of TamilNadu this picture is taken at a Tsunami affected orphanage. These children have lost everyone and everything in this tragedy. Spent time with them playing with toys, providing them food, sweets and more basic needs.

If you have any questions you can email me back or feel free to call me at 404 915 2300.

    Gur Fateh

    - Navneet Singh
