All the political parties appear to use religion when it suits them. The recent hijacking of this issue by the Akali Dal (Badal) group and projecting the anti corruption cases aginst them as being against the Sikh Panth is a very low act. Then for some reason we have Badal being honoured by the Akal Takht Jathedar after his release which further shows how the Jathedars position is also being used. What hurts is that the Akali Dal is meant ot be a Sikh Party but from what I see they are becoming the ole preserve of the BAdal family (rather like the Gandhi family and the congress party).
Just a few weeks ago we had people raising the isue of the 1984 riot victims becasue of the approaching Delhi elections. All very quiet on that front now.
