I would also like to raise the point of Sikh "priest". Technically there is no such thing. As we are all equal there is no hierarchy or priesthood in Sikhism. Likewise we do not need a medium to achieve God. I'm sure you can learn a lot from this granthi/priest and other members of the sangat, but keep in mind that the Guru is the final word for Sikhs. If you decide to become a Sikh it will be a personal experience, and nobody can tell you what is right or wrong. If you feel you want to begin wearing a turban then do it, but it must be a decision made for the right reasons. I personally cannot imagine life without a turban. I think you may find if you decide to wear a turban daily, that it changes your life and brings great comfort and joy. |
