| It come's down to a moderate to fundamental clash of perspective. And also one cannot have your cake and eat it too, we get attacked, and everyone cries out how Sikhs are not in the media, not doing enough to bring us into the mainstream so we don't get confused with Muslims, or how Sardars are having a tough time getting a suitable match for marriage since girls are seeking out 'monas' (in part due to media perception), we take steps like these and complaincancy starts up regarding how it's not a "true" perception of Sikhs and how these 'monas' or 'trimmers' (Movie director and models respectively) don't do the 'real' Sikhs justice. I feel that this is positive exposure and it will bode well for Sikhs to continue to become prominent in the arts i.e Fashion, Music, and Visual Arts industries. |
