Clipping and trimming the beard to become role models does not promote Sikhi or Sikh image, it only pollutes it. Jaswant Singh Maaf Karna, comments such as above make me boil!!! I ask S. Jaswant Singh, please ask yourself if your image of sikhi promotes the 'right' image! Come on man...open your mind! Sikhi (in my opinion) goes beyond trimmers and clean shaven ppl. Would you not consider a person from a Hindu family a Sikh...who does nit-nem, listens to baani and does all the things a 'Sikh' would do. Its ppl with such staunch views..with no room for discussion that turn away our youth from being 'proper'. I say, who cares if these guys are trimmers? So what? Most of the older ppl on this forum would be born/brought up in India and have had a different sort of an upbringing. But the guys born/brought up in the West have had to deal with different sorts of 'pressures'. Please don't shake your heads...its the fact. Boys are Boys and want to do things that other boys do. So, if this modeling thing is an out for our boys to be proud of being Sikhs...I say Go for it!!! Try to accept people for what they are rather than shunning them because they don't meet your expectations. Guru Sahai Hovai! P.S. before you all start flaming me, I would like to let u know that I am not a trimmer. |
