| To All: I was able to locate an essay by Russell. Please raed it and maybe you'll see what kind of a man he was. The conclusion is very good. Some excerpts: "to know the truth is more difficult than most men suppose, and to act with ruthless determination in the belief that truth is the monoply of their party is to invite disaster." "in public as well as in private life, the important thing is tolerance and kindliness." http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Oracle/2528/br_ideaharm.htm To read Why Am I Not A Christian please go to: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/2795/whynot.htm This is another good essay. If Russell has questioned people's belief in God it is because of one man's attitude towards another. There is a difference in believing in God and living a life contrary to those beliefs. As has been discussed on this forum the Sikh faith rests on the principle: "Truth is high but higher still is truthful living." What is the duty of man I have already posted before under the heading Sikhism - Concept Of Man. Enjoy |
