| I am not sure if they have them but there used to be a place called haddarorhi outside some of the villages, where they dumped dead animals. You could see a lot of eagles and vultures around haddarorhis. . But there were some other popular birds, e.g. koyal and chakor. Koyal is popular for the sound it makes. Lata Mangeshkar was sometimes referred to as Koyal and also one of the Punjabi singer (I can't remember her name now) was referred to as Koyal. It could be Parkash Kaur. Chakor is a bird (partridge family)that, according to what I have heard, loves with moon light and keeps staring at the moon all night, even when its neck gets twisted. There is another bird that only drinks pure rain water. I can't remember the name of this bird. If someone does know what I am talking about, maybe they can help us understand. Thanks....:-) |
