| With regards to the question 'Can you point out what you are you writing above?' re the following quote from me <<<<Or does she just like to portray negative images of NRI-Sikhs? If so, it is a perfect example of "DIVIDE AND CONQUER" strategy that is working. I say this because Lakhwinder Singh said (something along lines of) these NRI think themselves high-bred and show scorn towards predominately rural Sikhs.>>>> I was trying to make the point that: (a) If it is true that only negative images/impressions of NRI Sikhs e.g "think themselves as high bred and look down upon ruralites, who happen to be predominatly Sikhs, with scorn" are portrayed then this would be an example of trying to pit NRI Sikhs against Indian born Sikhs. Therefore, a "divide and conquer" strategy which involves getting the oppostion to argue/fight amongst themselves rather than against the real enemy. "Divide and Conquer" In Wider Indian Context -------------------------------------------- - The British used this strategy very effectively from the start of their rule until Indian Independence in 1947. How else can a "relatively small" British contingent/army rule over hundreds of millions of people ? - The current (and recent) Indian Government are just as effective at pitting (a) Sikhs against Sikhs, (b) Muslims / Sikhs against each other, (c) Muslims / Christians against each other (d) Hindus against all other groups in India (e.g. 1984 riots, recent Gujerat elections, destroying Muslim shrines) The non-Hindu groups in India are busy fighting among themselves or defending themselves from attack. At the same time the Indian Governemt is busy consolidating their power base within India, and making powerful friends overseas (e.g. America) who will argue against pressure being applied against India should the argument ever be made. Why? Because American and other foreign Corporations are making and will make lots and lots of money in India selling coke, McDonalds burgers etc. Again just my personal opinions and observations.
