Jasjit Singh ji:
If you feel that Sikh Missionary College is re-writing history, please contact them. In one of my previous post I had posted their address. I'll search for it and post it once again. Sikh missionary college, in my opinion, is doing a wonderful job in propagating the principles of Sikhism. You may think otherwise, it's understandable. Also, put forth your ideas, with justification, to other Sikh institutions too. What amazes me is the lack of motivation in people to approach an august committee of scholars with their points of view. If one is right then why hesitate.

One last thing, as Sikhs no one is CREATING justification for keeping hair. It is mandatory. The Guru's command. Of course keeping hair does not make one a complete Sikh either. Maybe this is the misconception that needs to be cleared. There is an 'external' identity and an 'internal' (spiritual) Sikh identity. A Sikh needs to possess both. We should use this forum to discuss what these identities are. Moreover we all have our own shortcomings, you, I and so many others. Shortcomings on our part does not constitute a fallacy in the Gurus' teachings.

Infact, we take pride in knowing that the teachings our Guru's propounded centuries ago are being proven correct by modern day science. I hope you will take pride in it to. Sikhism is correctly referred to as the 'religion of the future'.

In the words of the former President of India, Dr. Radhakrishnan:

"With the advent of science all religions feel threatened except Sikhism."
