Pritam Singh ji:
You are the one who is continuously blaming the Sikh community for 'judging' people based on maintaining hair. Thus, 'we' refers to all non-Pritam Singhs who do not agree with the aforesaid line of thought.

Now comes the question of apostates. An apostate is one who abandons his/her religious faith. This is the dictionary definition. The question we have to ask ourselves is who all amongst us is an apostate. I think most of us are. Some for doing away with their external identity and others for not following the Gurus teachings. Many amongst us lie, hurt others, commit all sort of crimes, etc. If as a Sikh we do anything against the Guru's wishes, we are apostates. In Sikh parlance an apostate is a "manmukh". Again, this is the beauty of Sikhism. The Gurus have laid down a path for the evolution of manmukhs to gurmukhs, i.e. there is a path that can lead the apostates to become the Sikhs, the Gurus envisioned. Maybe I'm an apostate as much as you are or the other guy who calls himself a Sikh and does not show respect for the 5K's.

We have to evaluate our actions ourselves first, before we try to recommend corrective actions for others. This might be something you may like to look into.

What has Sikhs (ofcourse with turbans) got to do with Gurudwara violence? What about the Sikhs who are vehemently opposing and speaking up against such foolish acts? Is their voice counted or not. Maybe you don't like to listen to them. That's your decision.

There is no correlation between Sikhs at large and gurudwara happenings. It was, in my opinion, an act of a few people who should be ashamed of themselves. Just because Clinton did something inappropriate while being the President doesn't mean that the Office of the President of the United States has lost its prestige. There will always be a lot of young men and women who will vie for this prestigious job. You reasoning, once again, is flawed.

Regards
