Just A Thought
---------------

I was wondering what it takes for somebody to get his/her ideas/views accepted for presentation in a gathering of scholars in a particular field.

Fortunately, I was able to locate a "Call For Papers" for a Technical Symposium. I won't get into details of this symposium since it has no bearing on Sikhs/Sikhism. However, I will post a short extract which defines what it takes to get your analysis/presentation accepted. This is to help those who may not be sure why their work(s) were not accepted.

....is soliciting papers from authors around the world for the Technology Symposium 98. This program will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of important technical work on the topics that follow....

...Prospective authors are requested to submit an abstract by July 27, 1998. The abstract must clearly describe the NATURE, SCOPE, CONTENT, ORGANIZATION, KEY POINTS & SIGNIFICANCE of the proposed paper.

Prospective authors are requested to submit an abstract of 200-250 words and a 100 word biography by September 10, 1998. Indicate the category for which the paper is being submitted. All abstract must appear on company/university/personal letterhead which includes the complete address, telephone and fax numbers.

A manuscript and one photocopy, plus the proposed illustrations for the technical proceedings will be required by December 10, 1998.

I have posted many presentations by various writers on Sikhism. They should provide a good framework to base one's presentation. I will post some more papers published in various journals/magazines.

I hope this helps.

Regards
