Summary of Question:Is Rakhri Part Of Sikhism

I read an sikh article and read that rakhri isn't part of sikhism. Like in the article it said this "a sister ties a thread on the wrist of her brother, which means that he will protect her no matter what. But doesn't this show the weakness of womanhood. " well my question is 'is this true' like I used to think rakhri was a day for borthers and sisters.

Yes, it may be a day for brothers and sisters but it is not a practice given to us by the Guru. It is a Punjabi or Indian custom. SK
