Sat sri akal
Jatinder jee
I can only write what worked for me while treading marriage waters.
FLASHABACK to 1983.
[1]Dad said i was over 25 and ready to amke a living so it was time to get married.
[2]Mom said what are my preferences in a girl.
She suggested Character, education and personilty!
I liked it. I said a girl from science background becasue I was an Artsie.
She said okay!
[3]Dad said "I have one desire only: no money [dowry] must be asked.
REST is up to you guys!" Wow!
[4]Mom went to Ndia two weeks ahead of me becasue I said I wanted her screen girls and give me names of four or five girls to see.
[5]I reaCH THERE and we had tea and spent less then hour with each.
Fourth girl I spent 15 minutes before I knew it was her. My tows twitched!
[6]Next day we were legally married and I came to canada.
[7]she came ten months and 210 letters later!
Our understanding was built through letters.
[8]we didn't date before marriage BUT we have been dating ever since.
Every day I am inlove more and more. I am not ashamed to express it either. I let people know how much I love her and they think I am weird!! SO I guess I am!! My wife can't believe it either!
HEY 18 years and still going by grace of God!!!!
We hopefully are one by now.
PS: yes we do have civilised arguments and love controls our fights. NEVER do I argue with hate. It is like "Honey didn't you promise to be ready about 40 minutes ago or am I mistaken!"
AND my favorite one liner which makes her smile "Honey would you please forgive me at least when it is YOUR fault."
HEY LIVE IT UP!!!
