Hitman 2 Petition Collects Nearly 1000 Signatures in First 24 Hours
A petition requesting EidosInteractive to recall the video game Hitman 2, which features Sikh men in beards and turbans being killed inside a Gurdwara, gathered nearly 1000 signatures in the first 24 hours of its launch. The petition is gathering international support, with signatures from people in the United States, the UK, India, Canada and even as far as Singapore and Kuwait. The sponsors of the petition, which include 36 Sikh organizations from across the world, are urging the Sikh community to get ten of their non-Sikh friends to sign the petition, as well. Within the next couple days, SikhNet will also be promoting a letter-writing campaign to key retailers who carry the game, as well as to elected officials, in order to put pressure on the retailers to stop the sale of Hitman 2.
