Sikh Candidate for US Senate Receives Endorsement from Independent Voters Org


February 9, 2004. U.S. Republican Senate Candidate, Dr. Chirinjeev Singh Kathuria, received the endorsement OF The Independent Voters of llinois-Independent Precinct Organization (IVI-IPO), on Monday. The organization is one of the single most prominent voting groups, estimated to influence 900,000 voters throughout Illinois. Dr. Kathuria is the only minority candidate in the 8-way Republican race and the only Asian American candidate running in both parties.

“One of the reasons I want to represent Illinois in the U.S. Senate is because I have lived the American Dream and our campaign is about bringing the American Dream to all of Illinois -- growing small businesses in Illinois, improving healthcare, and using technology to win the war on terror,” said Sikh American candidate Dr. Kathuria.

Dr. Kathuria campaign is hopeful that this endorsement will allow him to secure the nomination of the Republican Party for the US Senate seat in Illinois. The primary election in March.
