Dr. Nijher, Sikh Doctor and Hero, on Multi-City Speaking Tour

Sikh Communications Council is proud to announce that Dr. Navinderdeep Singh Nijher will be visiting nearly 10 cities across the United States of America, helping to educate Americans about the Sikh image and values, along with helping to diffuse any hate and/or backlash that may arise around the Sept 11th anniversary.

Dr. Nijher has been featured in Newsweek and CBS News for his heroic actions as the first doctor at the World Trade Center on 9-11. There has been widespread interest from the mainstream American audience to hear Dr. Nijher's story and his appeal for racial and religious tolerance.

Dr. Nijher will started off his tour in San Francisco on Wednesday, September 4th with news time TV appearances on KTVU Channel 2 and NBC Channel 4. Over the next ten days Dr. Nijher is scheduled to visit Fremont, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Stockton, Fresno, New York, Boston and Washington DC. In these cities he is speaking at Rotary clubs, synagogues, offices, churches, and other venues helping educate America about Sikhs by articulating his personal experiences.

Dr. Nijher’s tour provides an ideal opportunity for the Sikh image and values to be clearly articulated to mainstream America. Newsweek and CBS News have recognized Dr. Nijher as a true American hero. He symbolizes the Sikh Americans’ true sprit of courage under fire and putting one’s life on the line to save others.
