WalMart Supports Sikh Community Will Wait to Reorder Hitman 2
We are pleased to announce today that WalMart will not be purchasing any additional inventory of Hitman 2 until the new ammended version is available. WalMart will sell through its existing inventory which is expected to run out in a week or less. WalMart's decision should hopefully continue putting additional pressure on Eidos to quickly make the agreed upon changes.
Eidos Interactive agreed last week to make immediate changes to the game Hitman 2, currently availabe on the Playstation 2, XBOX and PC platforms, as result of intense worldwide community pressure.
The changes made by Eidos to the Playstation 2 game were approved yesterday by Ashminder Kaur, chief negotiator, and the Sikh Coalition. The game is now headed to Sony for approval and then on to the retail market.
A coalition of US-based Sikh organizations, working jointly, put into place a strategy three weeks ago that included pressuring retailers to stop selling Hitman 2. The organizations include SikhNet , Sikh Communications Council, Sikh Coaliton, SMART, SCORE and SikhPoint.
