What is the Card Security Code?

The Card Security Code is the three or four-digit security code on your MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover, card. We ask for your Card Security Code to verify that the order is being placed by you and to detect any fraudulent use of your card. Locate the Card Security Code on your card as shown below:

This number is printed on your MasterCard, Visa and Discover cards in the signature area of the back of the card. (it is the last 3 digits in the signature area of the card).

American Express cards show the Card Security Code printed above and to the right of the imprinted card number on the front of the card. This is the non-embossed number.

Why do I need my Card Security Code when I place and order online?
We require you to enter your Card Security Code whenever you use a credit card to place an order online. This helps us to detect any fraudulent use of your card - well before your account is charged. This helps to enhance the security of the ordering process. If your Card Security Code is missing or invalid, you may receive a call from our customer service Department to verify your order.

How does my Card Security Code protect me?
Because Card Security Codes are not raised, they are not scanned into standard credit card readers. Effectively, these numbers are visible only to you. When you give your Card Security Code to a merchant, you help the merchant verify that the order is being placed by you, the card-holder.
