Tappa This composition belongs to the rural people of the Punjab and deals with the love of Heer and Ranjha. It can be sung in any light raga and can use all the musical graces. Its trill is peculiar and its rhythm is medium. Its beauty lies in the combination of notes. Generally it contain an asthai and antra. It was popularised by Ghulam Nabi in the eighteenth century. |
