Absolute Connection to the Higher Self
Absolute Connection to the Higher Self
Blessings from the Siri Singh Sahib (aka Yogi Bhajan)

“The essence of life is the extension and projection of life, and is backed by 30 trillion very small parts of the atomic self of the body. The atomic self in our body is exactly the equivalent to the entire sum of us. But the tragedy which people do not understand as humans, is that the planets which are not livable by human standards have transparent lives and they are as good as we are. Even when we leave the body, drop the body, we do not have the mileage covered, the journey paid for, the karma cleared. In this regard the Guru teaches us that we have come here to pay the debt: clean and clear ourselves, go forward. And all deeds done on the planet, all thinking and all things, which we are projecting, are based on our strength and how passionately we want to help ourselves. It is not good enough to be good. It is not good enough to be good all the time and talk about your good. The fact is, you have to share your goodness. You have to spread your goodness, you have to give people everything you have. Giving people your goodness, God will give you goods and goodness.

This planet Earth has its problems. It has its moon which can extend and expand things, that’s what mind is meant for, to extend and expand things. And it has its sun which gives it pranic energy. And it has its communication between the flare of the sun and the magnetic field of the Earth.

We find the most wonderful co-existence of life which walks on two legs and we call them humans. Human beings are a phenomenon in the life of the impulsive world on the Earth. God has His own formulas, own schemes, own players. But the human is the one who has not had any clarity of intuition, so the human is caught by his impulse. And we do not want to learn from others’ experiences, we want to search it out ourselves.

y the time we search for it ourselves, figure it out, and find it, we are already dead, gone. Our neuroses become more important to us and more powerful than anything else. And we definitely get into a kind of very deep depression. It’s called “Cold Depression.” It’s like the Ice Age, everything among us freezes. We can’t move. This has been going on for centuries and man has been trying to find a relationship between man and God, so he can enjoy his visit to this planet.

Guru Gobind Singh, in his grace, gave us the systematic system of life, which we can practice: from low grade living, he made them rise high, and gave us the strength and courage and unparalleled sense of service and compassion with which we can survive. That was the most graceful thing we ever had as humans.

Well, the century has changed, people have changed. There are those who have not yet changed or understood the changes, inevitable changes. It is just like a train. Some people travel first class, some second class, some passenger class. Some poor people are outside hanging on to the handles. It is a matter of how you get it, and how you want to get it. If you want to ride a train, you have to come an hour earlier to get your seat checked, get into it and sit peacefully. If you are not into this, the train is moving, you are running along, you grab a handle, you hang on to it and you are subject to all weathers and dangers. It is not a comfortable, graceful journey. It’s just a journey dragging you along.

Are you dragging your life along? Are you drifting in the beauty and bounty of your life? Do you have questions? Have you found the answers to all your questions? Are you trying to find the answers to all your questions? Is your material will stronger than your conscious will? Is your mind clear about yourself and is that clarity so strong that one can see through you? Do you have a see-through state of mind?

And yet we must keep in mind the question: do we understand that we have to have an absolute connection with the Higher Self within ourselves?

This has created the foundation of Sikh Dharma. The place where a person can answer the call of the Dharma. It’s such a universal call, differentiated by none. It teaches you love, compassion, caring, kindness. It teaches self-control. It teaches us that the lower animal nature must be controlled, and that the medium human must be-come a human being, bright and beautiful, so that he can develop his Higher Self.

Now we are celebrating the 10th Master, Guru Gobind Singh’s birthday and we are proceeding on our lives. Our challenges are many. Firstly, challenges you are going to face are very unique to mankind and mostly people will be confused. Secondly, they will have a humongous, deep duality. Thirdly, they will know about it, but willnot know which direction to go. They will have the shackle of this time and they will not know how to break their shackles. People will be unfriendly and cold. Mostly you’ll find people totally reactive.

This is a gift of the passing out of the Piscean into the new Aquarian Age. Those of you who have that discipline in the Aquarian Age are supposed to communicate, welcome, be kind and caring people. It will happen and whether you notice or not. I would like you to be warned - you will find that it is not that we are ignorant about it, and this challenge is on us. Now you tell yourself that tomorrow you want to be something more than what you are today. Can you eliminate one weakness a day? Can you respond lovingly, with love and not with games and hatred and other things? Can you help a brother or sister? These are a few things which a man has to continually understand on this journey.

If you keep on taxing your mind with various thoughts, various directions, various nightmares, and various daydreams, that will be all you do. It will consume all your energy and you will come to a zero end. Then, when you actually need your mental energy, it will not be with you. You’ll be surprised, “How can my mind do this to me?” I am asking you, “How can you do what you do to your mind?” Similarly, we mature, we grow older, our intelligence changes every 11 years, our consciousness changes every 7 years, and we have to grow up proportionately.

Today, tomorrow, the day after, thereafter, ever after, you’ll be always asked to pay your previous debts and collect something in good deeds for tomorrow. Wherever you can do something out of compassion, kindness and reality, you must do it, because you are human. My feelings are that we have been walking on this path together, for these past years. God has bestowed His Grace on us. He has given us a right to exist in peace and tranquility.
