| Sikhinvestor Ji, I had typed something and I guess it timed out while I was typing... First of all, please don't be offended if we say something, you feel, does not apply to you. We are simply to suggest based upon our own experience... If we really have to start all over again, I think we should follow examples of new immigrants although you have major advantage over new immigrants as you have been here for a while also new immigrant face discrimination due to accent. Unless they have technical skills, mostly new immigrants start working at gas stations, production/manufacturing companies, post office or security companies. Some start driving trucks, cab or city/county buses. Some of them really progress in the field they choose. Some working at gas stations buy gas stations, some driving truck/cabs own trucking/cab companies and some others get promoted at the same job. Some of them use this time to go to school and find better jobs somewhere else. Of course, this is what I have seen from my experience. Things could be entirely different for you. So I think you should get any job that's available out there and maybe learn some new skills. For example, if you don't know Microsoft Office products, such word, excel, powerpoint, learn that in school. I don't know how it is where you live, but someo of the cities offer free courses. You can also go some kind of certification in medical field, such as Pharmacy Tech, Medical Office worker, X-Ray Technician and of course nursing. If you are interested in technical field, you could go get Microsoft, Oracle or Cisco Certification. It really depends what interests you most... Good luck to you :) |
