The survey found: Moms: They spend an average of 3 hours, 24 minutes on "one-on-one time" with their kids, playing games, getting them dressed and helping with homework. The Pros: A professional NYC nanny would gross $49.98 for the same amount of work, based on the average $14.70 hourly wage. Moms: Two hours are devoted to cleaning house and 1 hour, 36 minutes to cooking. The Pros: A city housekeeper would make a total $22.60 at the average hourly cleaning rate of $11.30, and a head chef would earn $68.03 based on the typical $42.52 hourly wage. Moms: Errands, such as shopping and fetching laundry, take up 1 hour, 36 minutes. The Pros: A mom would be entitled to a further $33.60, based on the $21 average hourly rate earned by socalled "mystery" or paid shoppers. Moms: One hour is spent driving kids to and from school and other destinations. The Pros: If she were a New York City cabbie, Mom would earn $15.20 for the same hour's work. GRAND TOTAL SALARY: $69,135 ... and no days off. Moms only escape the working day during the average 48 minutes they spend on themselves, whether it's reading, exercising or taking a shower. They devote 1 hour, 12 minutes exclusively to their husbands and 26 minutes to socializing with friends. |
