The miracles of Guru Ram Das continue all throughout the Americas.

In the late 1500s Guru Nanak spread the teachings of Ek Ong Kar to all parts of Asia and the Middle East. His mission continued through the light of his 9 successors to the Creation of the Khalsa, and then the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, the eleventh Guru.

Four hundred years later, in the same spirit, Yogi Bhajan AKA Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogi Ji, Chief Religious Director of Sikh Dharma International went to the Western continent (USA) to teach the Khalsa formula and uplift the Youth of the West. Even with the passing of this great messenger of Sikhee, Puree Ho-ee karamat aap sirjan haaray, dhaaree-aa.....the Miracles of Guru Ram Das continue.

A small group of very dedicated Sikhs of the USA, brought to this path through the guidance of Siri Singh Sahib Ji are dedicating the entire month of October to share the Gurus teachings in South America. The initiative was taken by Singh Sahib Guru Bachan Singh and his wife, Sardarni Sahiba Guru Bachan Kaur Khalsa (who are Spanish speaking). This year of 2005 marks the Third Annual Lord of Miracles Tour in Latin America. Siri Singh Sahib Ji inspired this very dedicated couple to take a group of teachers of Sikhee along with 2 of their children and their one grandchild through 9 countries and 13 cities of the Southern American Continent. Through singing, teaching, meditating, counseling, feeding and in the spirit of our 10 Masters, this self motivated group of Gurus Sevaks are seeing the Miracles of Guru Ram Das unfold every day.

Starting on October 3 in Quito Ecuador, classes in Kirtan, Gurmukhi, Sikh History and meditation on Shabd were taught by this group. In Lima, Peru, not only were these same topics taught, but a visit was made to a Women’s Shelter where guidance and kirtan was shared with the women and children in protective custody in the outlying village. Before leaving La Paz, Sardar Pritpal Singh, his wife and 2 children came to meet us.

A beautiful turbaned Gursikh family was being relocated by the Sikh Alliance to Cochin, India, where he would be working as a Spanish-Hindi translator. He was thrilled to be amongst us as having not had Sadh Sangat all though his trials in Lima.

The Miracles of Guru Ram Das have been varied and wonderful as this group, using their own personal resources to travel. Usually every 3- 4 days they go from country to country. Along with their typical suitcases are Harmonium, Tabla, Tamboura, stories, smiles, and radiance of love and devotion to a mission that they experienced with the travels of Siri Singh Sahib Ji. The youngest member of this group is 2 year old Amar Singh. Then, there is 18 year old Sat Gurumukh Singh, photographer and son of the Gurubachan's with his 19 year old friend and student, Simran Singh Khalsa. Gatka Master Guru Kirin Kaur Khalsa from New Mexico traveled for the first half of the tour. Sardarni Sahiba Jai Hari Kaur Khalsa of Mexico City joins with her deep power of healing and uplifting smiles.

Next, the group ascended on Guru Ram Das’ Birthday to the high mountains of La Paz, Bolivia. This place being so similar to the 15,000 foot elevation of Hemkunt Sahib where Guru Gobind Singh meditated. Very heady from the thin air, the group was hosted by the Chief of Commerce for Bolivia. His wife had fallen in love with the Shabd, Dhan Dhan Ram Das Guru.....after having been taught Kundalini Yoga by the first Sikh woman of Bolivia to put on a turban.

Then, the wife of the Assistant Minister of Health for Bolivia, who is a student of Yoga, invited the group to present the Super Health De-addiction Program to the Directors of the Rehab program of La Paz. As the Punjab Government has hosted the 3HO SUPER HEALTH DEADDICTION PROGRAM in Amritsar this year, the program is based on a system of Yogic science. The Minister and his wife were very interested in this NGOs work and intrigued that the program patient recovery rates are remarkably faster than other programs.

The last night of the tour in La Paz was hosted by the acting Vice President of Bolivia. His Excellency, Juan Ignacio Silas, a most well known statesman in South America, from a family of Statesmen serving in Public Office for many generations. In his home they listened to the Shabds of the Guru sung on a new CD by Sardarni Sahiba Sat Kirin Kaur Khalsa. Then we listened to the beautiful serenade of the VPs wife and ate a scrumptious vegetarian feast of traditional Bolivian food.

In Asuncion, Paraguay, the work of the Guru expanded greatly. At 7:30 in the morning, Singh Sahib Guru Bachan Singh was interviewed on a live TV talk show by the Paraguayan, Oprah Winfrey. For 30 minutes of live air time Guru Bachan Singh spoke on Sikh Dharma, Kundalini Yoga and Yogi Bhajan. Somehow, the show very spontaneously finished with a segment of a cooking class of scrambled tofu, as Guru Bachan Singh is very well known for his Langar seva.

A short 2 hours later, the Vice President of Paraguay received our delegation. During this 40 minute meeting, His Excellency, the acting President, extended a warm welcome to 3HO Sikh Dharma International. He pledged his support to all Sikhs and students of Kundalini Yoga in Paraguay and expressed a keen interest in Akal Security and the Super Health De-addiction Program.

Without loosing any momentum, the next stop was in the downtown area to feed 400 Indigenous people and their children, that were demonstrating for weeks to obtain governmental aid. These people were in desperate need and were given over one ton of: beans, rice, powdered milk, herbs, sugar and soap by our group in the Name of Guru Ram Das, the One who uplifts the human spirit.

A large well attended class in The Power of the Shabds taught by Sardarni Sahiba Sat Kirin Kaur Khalsa. Sardarni Sahiba Guru Bachan Kaur Khalsa taught a deeply inspiring class to a shelter of 150 abused women who are being trained and relocated. Mukhia Sardarni Sahiba Hari Dharam Kaur Khalsa elected to remain in Asuncion, Paraguay for an extra week to teach Gurmukhi and give deeper training for the students running the communities Gurdwara.

Our Next stop was to our largest community of Sikh students in Santiago, Chile. Here a large full day Conference was held for over 160 students and their children. From stories and meditations and shabds, we demonstrated GATKA then they performed BANGRA and the children did a beautiful procession with songs and flags and meditations. Here were visible an abundance of turbans and beards that have been growing among the Chileans over the past 25 years.

One remarkable young man is Siri Didar Singh Khalsa. He is a 12th grade student in a prestigious Catholic School of Santiago. He had been inspired to become a Sikh after studying Kundalini Yoga and the Teachings of the Sikh Gurus. After taking Sikh vows her returned to school with a turban on his head and was promptly expelled from school for a week. During that week he diligently petitioned and educated his teachers and school administrators. By the following week he had earned recognition and respect and was permitted to continue his schooling with his turban on his head. Now, the Catholic schools of Chile recognize the turban of the Sikhs.

Having sampled many ethnic langars, countless hours of counseling, teaching of classes and leading of kirtans and meditations and sharing the warmth and loving hospitality of the Latin Americans, the group now moves on to Buenos Aires and the next part of the tour.
