Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle (GGSSC) Canada, conducted their 4th Sikhism Course in Toronto-Canada, which was based on the life stories of First 5 Sikh Gurus. The multimedia state-of-the-art presentation coupled with innovative interaction with the participants has become a popular formula with the sikh youth and kids. GGSSC team has mastered this the formula to make the participants glued to their seats for 3 hours and have revolutionized the way sikh history can find a place in the creative minds of the new generation X.

“The hi tech presentation with an array of media archives downloaded from the web and and most importantly the clips from SIKHNET FILM FESTIVAL makes these courses even more interesting” said Bir Singh, who coordinated the camp in Rexdale Gurdwara on 24th, 25th and 26th of December. “ I love these courses as I don’t have to read the whole sikh history myself. Here I get to see all of it and absorb it by interacting with the teachers in a short time. I love the name- Gurmat Crash Course” says Simran Kaur, a first time participant.

We talked to Surinderpal Singh about the the preparation of these courses and he said “ Our presentations are prepared with a lot of hard work and more than 100 hours of work in order to ensure that the participants love this experience of interacting with our great history”. Starting with their first course last Christmas which was ‘Introduction to Sikhism’ this was the 4th successful event, where students were exposed to the lifetime stories of first five Gurus. As always GGSSC offered this service FREE and on the contrary has announced a Laptop, a Sony Play Station Portable and many other exciting gifts for the participants

GGSSC Canada is planning to roll out these events to other parts of Canada and if you or your Gurdwara is looking for such services please feel free to contact S. Amarpreet Singh at 647 280 5940 or visit www.ggssc.ca for more details.
