2006 Lord of Miracles in Santiago, Chile, S. America - 2
10/18/2006
By S.S Gurubachan Singh Khalsa
After 5 hours our flight landed in Santiago, Chile at 0400hrs to the smiling faces of our Santiago sangat. Chile’s sangat is a very beautiful and well-developed one. For 15 years, the Chileans have been practicing and teaching Kundalini Yoga and Sikh Dharma. Also, for many years they have always been the largest attendees of Summer Solstice Sadhana besides Mexico from outside the USA. S.S. Nam Nidhan Kaur has been promoting Kundalini Yoga and Sikh Dharma throughout all of South America for the past 5 years traveling everywhere offering Teachers Training and courses based on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan. S.S. Pritam Pal Singh, also a Chileno but living in Mexico, has been instrumental in promoting the teachings in South America too.
After a brief rest in the hotel I met with several people in private consultation and Bibiji immediately began meeting the sangat. For lunch we were invited by Guru Sangat Kaur [Nam Nidhan’s mother], Hari Gopal Kaur [her sister-in-law] and Nam Nidhan to a great feast in Hari Gopal’s home. Guru Sangat Kaur and her whole family had cooked a great Lebanese meal for more than 2 days. The entire group who attended ate so much “we couldn’t think.” Not only were there 9 courses of food but 3 full courses of dessert. It was absolutely divine!
That evening was the 6th of October and the 2-year anniversary of Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan leaving his body. We were greeted and warmly welcomed to the class by the Chilean children who presented Bibiji and I with beautiful flowers.
Bibiji gave a beautiful talk to the entire Sangat on what it was like being married to the Spiritual Master. For more than one hour she spoke about her early years with him, adjusting to America, working together and finally the last few days of his life. It was a poignant, heartfelt sharing that enraptured the entire Sangat present. After sharing tears, questions and appreciation, I lead the class in a meditation and chanting to Guru Ram Das. It was a very memorable night.
The following day was the 4th Lord of Miracles Class with the entire Sangat. For 2 hours we meditated, spoke, and chanted to/about Guru Ram Das. It was then followed by a great lunch at Pizza Nostro. Bibiji returned to the event to teach her class for 2 hours on the power of a meditative woman. In the evening, we all gathered in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Santiago and listened to music and ate and conversed as a family until midnight. There were about 40 of us for 6 hours enjoying the company of the sadh sangat. It reminded me of all the countless times we spent with Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan at the El Dorado Hotel listening to the Piano and eating. People staying at the Hyatt came over to us and asked us so many questions. It was wonderful to invite them to join us and be a family together. Vand Chako!
In the morning we all ate breakfast together and we were driven to the airport to catch our Air France flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina, our third of 12 cities on this 4th Lord of Miracles Tour in Honor of Guru Ram Das…
