Temple Of Steel

The concept of the Temple of Steel was originally given to us by the Siri Singh Sahib in the mid seventies. Until a few short years ago, that concept seemed all but forgotten as we in the Dharma dealt with more immediate and pressing issues. Each summer Solstice for the last three years, as we have displayed progressively more detailed drawings of the project, the imaginations of a growing number of people have become stimulated and the concept has found a place in all our hearts. At Summer Solstice 1994, further comments were made by the Siri Singh Sahib regarding the Temple, and it was featured in a video presentation concerning the short and long term plans for the development of Ram Das Puri. A scale model, produced by the project’s architect, Jai Singh Khalsa, was also prominently displayed.

Although it has not been determined exactly when construction will begin, it is certain that the future belongs to us and that the Temple Of Steel will play a central role in it. In the words of the Siri Singh Sahib, "When the last brick of gold is laid in the Temple’s dome, it will mark the beginning of the rule of the Khalsa."

"The Temple of Steel will be the Takhat Raj Yog of Guru Ram Das. From it the Shabd Guru embodied in the Siri Guru Granth Sahib will rule. It will be built on one of the Earth’s 'nerve centers' and will bring peace, harmony and elevation to the collective psyche of the planet. Pilgrims from all parts of the earth will come to it to be healed. Its splendor and glory will shock and inspire all who see it. Its majesty will instill a sense of pride and belonging in all pure ones everywhere."
