Take a moment to reflect on how important communication is in our life. Our success in relationships, in business and in life itself depends on good communication. The Siri Singh Sahib chose to write his doctoral dissertation on the technology of communication. In the last 25 years technology has evolved by leaps and bounds and we now have an opportunity to become members of a worldwide network of communications that has loosely been termed "the Information Superhighway".
Members of a Khalsa Council Strategic Action Team (SAT) have been working with members of the Sikh Dharma Secretariat staff to develop enhanced communications for our family. Understanding that not everyone is comfortable using computers for day to day communication, we are beginning the system implementation with a voicemail-faxmail system. This will allow anyone, almost anywhere, with a telephone and/or a fax machine to participate in a new level of inter-sangat communication.
Communicating with either voice or fax, electronic "mailboxes" will allow us to deliver multiple messages with a single phone call and even to return messages without having to make a call. These services will allow us to have much better communications between International HQ and the Siri Singh Sahib and local sangats, between sangats, between individuals and between our businesses. These better communications will help us to increase inspiration, reduce overhead, save time and money, and share time sensitive information. How many times have found that the Siri Singh Sahib gave a particular diet or an important meditation long after the time for it had passed?
This system is close to implementation and we will be contacting you shortly to let you know how you can join in traveling the Sikh Dharma Information Superhighway.
