During the last few months of 1993 I was not traveling on the road selling, as I normally do. I was a little bummed out, so I decided to help out in the Dasvandh, Fund Development Office to get my spirits up. I so believe in the power of Dasvandh and building this Dharma. I was helping call the sangat all over the country and I was telling everyone about our wonderful new Prosperity Altar. I was talking away saying how important it is to give so that the energy can flow through us all; when I realized I needed to give a Dasvandh offering also.
The new Prosperity Altar had just been completed. I had $20 in my wallet so I put it in a Dasvandh envelope and put it on the Prosperity Altar. Not more than a half hour later the phone rang and I was offered a $1200 job for the month of January with all expenses paid! Wahe Guru!
One thing I have learned in my 25 years in Sikh Dharma is that the only way to really be prosperous is by giving. 1994 is the year of "we" not "me." Therefore "we" through our giving will be given the avenues to become the great givers!
