Hey there,

You guys have helped me out alot in this past year and i want to say thanks. It was with gods grace i truley found what it ment to be sikh. Yeahh anyways i have a question of fear. We are not suppoesed to have it we are suppoesed to have faith. But then why is it written we have a destiny and everything is in gods hands. So if like you are scared of flying or sumthing but you have to have faith beacuse it keeps you strong but if its gods decison if your safe then what is ti you should do. Sorry kind of confusing... Is this attachment?? please try to answer this question asap thanks again.

Sat Nam. Having faith doesn't mean that you abandon common sense. Caution in some situations is advisable. God gave us the ability to make choices, so overcoming fear is a choice we can make. If you have a fear of flying, there are ways to overcome that. Statistically flying is probably safer than driving your car! Your question is somewhat vague. Just because we have faith doesn't mean that we lie down on a railway track with a train speeding towards us. See what I mean? Yes, life and death depend entirely upon God's will, so worrying is a waste of time and energy. Worry -- or "fear" is like praying for something you don't want. Whatever we experience in life is the scenario that we need to work out to pay our karma and learn the lessons involved. To overcome fear you might focus on reciting JAAP SAHIB, to give you the courage that Guru Gobind Singh's amazing soldiers had! "It's not the life that matters, it's the courage that you bring to it!" Blessings, SP
