My question relates to sex after marriage. Is it alright to have sex for pleasure or it was just meant for reproduction. If it is done for pleasure even with your wife, isn't it a form of lust and Guru ji's told us to stay away from pleasure giving things. Or did they just meant its alright to do with your wife but not with other women. I am a lil bit confused if u can clearify on this matter. I wanna know in contents of being an Amritdhari sikh if it is alright to do it every day with your women or is it just seen as a form of lust which we stould stay away from and do it only a means of reproduction.
Please if anyone can give some form of advice
thanks

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Sexual union between husband and wife should be an expression and fulfillment of the love between them. Sounds to me like daily sex (unless you're still honeymooning) is way too much. Sounds as if you're just using your wife, rather than spending time in between the "love making" to show her affection, tenderness, kindness and appreciation. Trying to fit this into the context of being Amritdhari isn't really relevant. Except that Amritdhari actions are to be in all circumstances and situations the most righteous and respectable. There's nothing wrong with enjoying the sexual union between husband and wife -- certainly it should be! -- but your daily needs are excessive, and the key word here is "needs" -- which is not an expression of love. How does your wife feel about this? It should be a MUTUAL desire, a mutual pleasure, and a mutual experience. SP
