Hello

I am a sikh boy living in Brampton onatario. I have a question regarding people looking at me were ever i go. Lets say i go to the mall with my frineds and walk around people start looking at me and never stop stareing i feel like cutting my hair because i cant stand people looking at me so wat should i do ?

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Young people are often self-conscious and insecure, but I have to ask, are you wearing a turban? Guru Gobind Singh gave the bana so that Sikhs would have the courage to show the world who we are. Do you know the story of the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur? I am sorry that it makes you uncomfortable to have people look at you, but cutting your hair will not solve that problem. The problem is not your hair, but how you feel about yourself. My apologies, I do not mean to offend you, but that's what I believe from what you have written. I'm also interested in knowing how much do you know about Sikh history? Do you realize courage and sacrifice that people have made to uphold their right to be recognized as Sikhs? I often tell people who inquire about my turban, "Sikhs don't proslytize, but we do advertise!" Tie a beautiful turban, wear it proudly as your crown of dignity! Blessings, SP
