Focus the mind on NAAM and then the soul can be connected to Guru Ji.

This is my idea of mind and soul.

Mind is occupied by maya and material things in our surroundings. In this state the soul is starved of what it is here for.

When we focus our mind on NAAM then the mind allows the light of Guru Ji to tune directly to the soul.

Sat nam. This is certainly one way to put it. Yogi Bhajan has taught that meditation on Naam (1) builds a relationship to Soul and (2) builds a relationship to Divine. Since the Creator is All-in-All, then Soul is Divine.
