the following are my opinions, no offense to anyone.

1)the reason sikh girls go out for companionship with young men (usually "bad guys") is because the fathers dont give the girls enough love. the dad needs to take care of the girl and show her all the man she needs. its really that simple but because of language barriers it becomes hard for the father 2 communicate.
2)Sikh girls-be strong. It may be hard to keep your long hair but speaking as a guy (and all of my friends agree), girls with uncut hair are much more beautiful than girls who cut. stay as the daughers of Guru Gobind Singh Ji...it will pay off. Also, show some love to your Sikh brothers. The reason most Sikh guys cut their hair and trim/shave beards is because girls pressure them to do so. They feel the only way a girl will like them is if they cut their hair. Although it is completely not true, it is important they be reminded kesh is beautiful.
3) Sikh brothers-stand up for your sisters and be shers. Be their for the girls as brothers and dont try to "get with them" until you are old enough.
4) Why drink? You ruin your body, mind, and soul. Think what good will come out of it. A night of "fun" for a ruined life if you get addicted, or if you get in a drunk driving crash, or if your parents find out. The cons far outweigh the pros.
5) Their need to be well educated advisors who speak english to teach the youth. The Bhai Sahibs and sants at gurudawara can not speak english thus not giving the kids an outlet to ask questions if they are needed. this website is great, but sometimes a kid needs a 1 on 1 talk with an educated , knowledgable man/woman who can level with them.
6) Sikh parents-lighten up. I see so many parents restricting their kids beyond necessary. they will grow up, go to college and grow crazy with experimenting drugs, sex, drinking if you dont expose them to it early on. im not saying let them do whatever, but just let them be regualr teenagers. let them stay out dring a break and "chill out" with friends.

Thanks for the time and thank you moderators for doing a great seva to the youth. You are unsung heroes.

Sat Siri Akaal. I appreciate your insights. You are right that a forum can only go so far to assist Sikh youth in USA and Canada and Britain who need to understand Sikhi in English. I do know that youth camps are one way to get those questions answered, and you can find some of the camps through Google or at www.sikhseek.com, click on youth.
