waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh,

i have a question regardin paper marriages. alot of people do a paper(fake) marriage because they want to get a green card. is it wrong or right?
for instance a girl agrees to a paper marriage to a guy and in return, later the guy will hellp bring someone from the girl's family to the US by a paper marriage.
I am really confused on this issue. I think this is wrong. But if the people involed want to stay or come to the US because they are sort of poor in india. is it stil wrong?

any answer u can giv me will be greatly appreciated.

Sat nam. These are marriages of expedience. If you feel they are wrong, they are wrong. No rule saying they are or are not, but they are based purely on socie-economic issues, NOT on personality, heart, and soul, and certainly not on basic Sikh philosophy as taught by our Gurus.
Maybe they work out, maybe they don't. Some could easily argue that arranged marriages are also for (family) expedience. What these paper marriages clearly are not is a case of the bride and groom having time to get to know one another and discuss their values and goals, etc.
Morality in this situation is through the eyes of the beholders.
