I wanted to ask is it wrong to gamble for the fun of it. Me and other friends gamble mainly on football games and never won any big money (£2-5+). We just like to prove eachother right or wrong and 'put our money where our mouth is' so to speak. Even though I don't stand to win anything is it ok?Also if the chances were 100% lose or win would it be ok? As then there is no chance involved.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. The only way I can think of to answer your question is to remind you that one of the basic Sikh directives is to "Earn righteously (by the sweat of your brow) so that you can then share with those less fortunate." If you felt that gambling was earning righteously I don't think you'd ask this question, because you already know it isn't. Yet, I know that many people do gamble, "just for fun." The important thing is never to do anything that makes you feel even slightly guilty, because that dims the light of your soul. SP
