Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Well there is a question about how to calm down. The thing is when somebody talks about my hair like when somebody say "Why don't you cut your hair" or something like this. Even if I've already tell them they just pretend they don't know and they keep on asking the same question. I became very angry. Sometimes I even don't know how to calm myself down. Because my hair is the gift from the Guru. And I don't want anyone keep on asking me too many questions. Can you suggest me a way of being calm.

Sorry If I had waste your time.

(REPLY) Sat Nam. One way to overcome anger is to breathe very, very slowly before you speak, take a few long deep breaths (through your nose, as you mentally chant SAT as you inhale, and NAM as you exhale). If you've already told the people who are questioning you, then they perhaps are just trying to make you angry, and they are succeeding! Don't let anyone have that power over you! How about writing out a short, but complete explanation of the reason for keeping your hair, honoring God's gift, etc. etc, and carry it with you nicely printed out, starting by saying something like, "Thank you for asking why I don't cut my hair. My hair is a precious gift from God, which I respect and appreciate. According to my Sikh religion, hair should never be cut." etc. etc And you might even add: "I respect your right to do as you wish with your hair, and I hope you will give me the same respect." Anyway,do practice long deep breathing every morning, with the SAT NAM meditation so that you calm your mind habitually. And, of course, recite Japji Sahib and Jaap Sahib for sure, before you start your day. Blessings, SP
