What are the duties of a good father towards his children in Sikh religion. How could one be a good father?

----

Being a good parent is probably the hardest job of a lifetime. It is the father's responsibility to provide for his family, unless the wife has a better job and they agree that he will stay home and be Mr. MOM. The main job is to create self-sufficient children who become self-sufficient adults. This means that they need tools to run their life and excel. Teach them values from the inside, so they know what is right and wrong in all situations. Teach them that they are planetary citizens, created equally by our One Creator, along with all other creators on the earth and universe. Above all, teach them that they have a Soul and help them keep that relationship strong. Just remember that you do own your children. They are on loan to you. They have their own karmas, destinies and missions in life. Give them the tools, love and values so they can soar in life. Then, your job will be done. Blessings. GTKK
