im confused when i read gurbani it says (in gurmukhi) repeat 'hari hari' (it has a biharee 'ee' sound on the end) but the english translation says 'har har'without the 'ee' sound. is it hari or har?

Sat nam. When reading gurmukhi, read what is written, so you would say haree if you see the biharee 'ee'. Har and Haree are variations on the same word and sometimes you will actually see in gurmukhi the 'har' word for God.
English translation is simply using "Har" as a reference point, rather than as a correction to the pronounciation.
