Summary of Question:Shabad Hazare Vs. Ko-Ee Aan Milaavai
Category:Gurbani
Date Posted:Wednesday, 2/09/2005 12:28 PM MST

SSA,

My question is this: what is the difference between the shabad hazare (http://www.sikhnet.com/GurbaniKirtan/tr_1177.html) and Ko-ee aan milaavai (http://www.sikhnet.com/GurbaniKirtan/tr_0502.html)?

Here's why I am asking: I am having some relationship problems, and want to pray for us to be reunited. I have read that both of these shabads can help with this, but I do not know if that is correct, so would like to know which shabad is for which purpose. Also, I find myself reading a shabad whenever my heart starts to sink....but would like to know whether there is a specific number of times one is meant to read a shabad.

Your early response is most appreciated.

Best,
Simran

Sat Sri Akal!

Are praying to be reunited or are you praying because it helps you feel better? Whether you pray or not will not affect the outcome of being reunited... but it WILL affect whether you are at peace with yourself and with the world. The shabads call for being reunited with Waheguru.

You should recite any part of Gurbani as often as your heart pleases. If you always feel good reciting it, then always recite Gurbani!

Gur Fateh,
HSD
