Hi,

this is in reference to the responce under "POWER OF WORDS"
I would like to quote from that responce----- "Guru NAnak's son, Baba Siri Chand can be called upon for protection, but only one repetition, and only once a day (!) with these words: Aluck Baba Siri Chand de rackh. "

I am no scholar and may not know much but i feel a little dissatisfied with the responce. The moderators says repeat the sequense only once a day. it sounds that its some kind of MAGIC.

Well in Sikhism there is no space for magic..is there???

I am sorry I am no judge to anybody... but this response especially the way we should repeat the particular sequence...I didn't find right?
I would really apperiate if u can reply and tell me if I am correct
Thanks

(REPLY) Sat Nam. There is a technology to the use of mantra. When we don't understand the laws of the universe but only see results, we can call something magic. Actually, the fact that we have a living Guru, yet it is embodied in paper and ink could be called magic. The vibration of the Holy Nam is magic! To me, the wonder, the awe, the effect of knowing HOW to recite Gurbani, for instance is "magic." I know that the experiences I have had in reading from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib and the change in my consciousness and in my life could be called "magic"! I think it's wonderful magic. Now, about Baba Siri Chand: The way I heard it, his yogic power was/is so great that calling upon him only once for protection is all that is needed-- otherwise, he might be offended if you think you have to keep repeating it. I know you will not like this statement, but there it is. Blessings, SP
