how long should you be with someone before you ask them to marry you?

Sat nam. There is no set time frame, but I would recommend at least 6 months time to get to know someone before popping the question. You can ask them and then allow more time in the engagement period to continue to get to know the person and be certain in your heart that s/he is right for you.
