Sat Nam,
You are right it does not really matter when to get married as long as you feel ready for it. Even if you are already 90 and you don't feel ready then it is ill-advisable. Most people these days don't feel like getting married until their late 20th or even sometimes 30th. Look around you and ask yourself what would you really like to accomplish before you get married and how long do you think it will take you to do it. Then listen only to yourself and go ahead accomplish everything you want. Be selfish about it, make a list and go for it.
And you will know in time, when you are done exploring life and satisfied with your accomplishments your soul maybe ready to make a commitment for marriage.
It all has to do with your inner feeling not anyone's outer superstition.
