Summary of Question:Breaking A Promise To God

Hi. At the start of this year I was going through a really bad time. I was stuck in a job where I was really unhappy and needed to get out of. I started to apply for other jobs and found one I really wanted and at the time thought would be a great company to work for. I prayed to god and asked for him to bless me with this job, and that if I got it, I PROMISE to stick with it for at least until I settled down and got married. (I haven't found anyone yet)

Waheguru answered my prayers and blessed me with this job, for which I am forever grateful.

Since starting this new job, things haven't gone too well, I have been mucked about by the HR department and they have not created a good impression. I cannot work for a company I cannot trust now. Now I want to look for another job, but I made a promise to god that I would stick with this one, but I cannot work somewhere where I am unhappy? What shall I do? Have I sinned for breaking a promise to god?

Lay off the guilt. Really you need to keep up and work out the problems and difficulties. New beginnings just as new relationships always contain challenges. When you start working out you have to surpass the hurdle of your shortness of breath and your weak muscles. You asked for something, you recieved it, now continue through the year and complete it. You will find a great victory rather than slinking away in defeat and cowardace. This will serve you in your future marriage to. You have the power of positive mind so now apply it!!!! SK
