Dear Sir,

i have been rather confused by the huge emergence of communities that believe in sikhism, have extensive knowledge about our guru granth shaib, however live a rather contoroversial lifestyle. take the neeldhari's for example they tie a blue belt, do not wear the five k's however carry out the rituals of sikhs, keeping thier hair and doing the recommended prayers. ARE THEY SIKHS?. this is an issue that needs to be brought up into the open, these 'blue belts' are living a rather contoroversial sikh life, even though they have greater knowledge than the common person about gurbani, and are vegetarians. i just want to know are they sikhs

I guess it depends upon who you ask. In my opinion, they are Sikhs. They are more Sikh than many so-called Sikhs I know. They are very devoted, sincere, and pure in both their their lifestyle and spiritual practices. Closed minedness will only kill our religion. Compassion and acceptance will help it to flourish. Be more concerned about the kind of Sikh you are...and the kind of person you are than worrying about labels and definitions of others. Blessings. GTKK
