I tried not to even think about this but could not help after reading the response.

I am so glad you replied the way you replied to this girl (who hates indians and moved away from indians - so to speak.) But she never thinks that if there are more people like her (who hate indians, she could be equally hated too, and like you said, then what do you do move countries).
But you know what the bottom line is,it is her PARENTS - who themself have no values, who have sowed the seed (this girl) and will reap later but I feel so bad that this girl has to pay the price for her parents to learn the lesson(it might be too late). If this girl is reading all this stuff on sikhnet maybe by GOD's grace(whosoever he maybe) she might get the wisdom and not repeat the same mistake her parents are doing(that they don't think they are - some immature ignorant people!). I feel more sorry for this girl than angry.I bet you her parents do not even know that she is smoking pot and stuff, they just think - they hate indians (from some bad experience they had) and their daughter does not dress, talk, behave anything like that. They probably get a shock. No matter how bad, immature, careless a parent be but they can never see their child do things like that.Even the westerners(who she and her family idiolises) do not let their children knowingly do drinking, somking, drug etc.
Now for the girl who replied, thank GOD that you have parents who care about you and are taking time out to instill values and define limits to what you can and cannot do. I speak as a parent - it is easy to just let the kids do what they are doing or want to do than argue, fight, talk, discipline about what they are and should or should not do. My step kids went through this and when they were teenagers they thought we were too strict and opted to live with their mother instead and today they only formally talk to her and keep her away from their kids so she doesnot influence. She can come and play with tehm but cannot take them for even few hours.Today they say, wish you would have beatus up or did whatever it took to be with you we would not be here. They are smart wonderful kids but did not finish college and/or high school.
They always advice my kids about what they should do and are now raising their children with values, lots of talk, disciplne as we do.
So, maybe this girl will read all this and learn her lesson and change(now she cannot change her parents - do not even try) but can herself(which will not be easy either because they will try to inflict what they beleive - as this is all they know).Good luck to this girl and I hope she keeps us posted of where she ends up in life (from high school to married life).

(REPLY) Sat Nam. Thank you. I also hope she reads your message and the others, maybe some of it will make a difference for her. SP
