Dear Moderatorji,

Fateh!
I am really confused about this issue.Is it ok to pierce your ears?I have heard from some that is is ok & is stretching the religion a bit too far & yet others say that it is not allowed & the reason for this is that it is a sign of slavery.well, it was a sign of slavery at a time we are not even in familiar with & today it is not thought about like that.So, why is it not ok?

Piercing your body is a form of mutilation. A Gursikh maintains his/her body in it's perfect form as God has given it. Best to decorate your being with the song of God. This gives a radiance and a beauty that outshines any other superficial decorations.
