some people say it is wrong to do kirtan that is out of rag? i have encountered a person that said if u do not do kirtan in rag u are a manmukh. is this correct? b/c i have done kirtan both in and not in rag my entire life. this man upset me by subtly calling me nd many other people i know in the AKJ manmukhs. i was wondering if it says anywhere in gurbani that kirtan should only be done in rag?

Gurbani Kirtan is for elevating you and others.
To spread fear and judgement and limitation about your devotion is not Wahe Guru....
You must NOT listen to the negativity of others and displace your devotion with fear.
