THANKS
(REPLY) Sat Nam. Depression is a terrible condition, and I'm so sorry you are suffering now. Your faith is being severely tested at this time. I hope and pray that you can realize that the apparent "success" of those around you, living the way they do , is all maya -- it is all false. The only thing of any permanent value is your relationship to God and Guru -- which you seem to be trying to keep alive and thriving by doing paath every day. But are you thinking about and understanding what the Gurus are saying in the banis? In Japji alone, Guru Nanak really explains about the meaning of life, and how this universe works. Although other people's lives may seem better to you than your own, I assure you each one will pay the price for any karma they create. We are each paying off past karma for previous actions, and the important thing is to practice patience and, believe it or not, an attitude of Gratitude! You don't mention that you are physically handicapped, you are not blind, you are not crippled, etc. etc. You are not starving. Yet on this planet there are thousands - perhaps millions who are. There's a saying, "I complained because I had no shoes until I saw a man who had no feet." I realize it sounds like just a bunch of philosophy, but I assure you that being truly grateful to God, every day, every moment, with every breath is a most powerful way to receive blessings in your life. There's an American movie called "It's a Wonderful Life" that they've shown on TV every year for many years, and it's about a man who thought he had nothing to live for, everything seemed hopeless in his life, and he felt that if he died, no one would miss him. Well, of course that's absolutely not the case. Not with him, not with you. So pull yourself together, and make a conscious effort every single day to do at least one thing to help another human being in some way. Stop thinking about yourself, and see what you can do to serve others. I would certaily suggest that you chant to Guru Ram Das, "Lord of Miracles" -- perhaps GURU GURU WAHE GURU, GURU RAM DAS GURU and ask for guidance. May God and Guru bless you with wisdom and courage to make the most of this precious human life that you have been given. SP
