I am very confused. I am 24 years old female. I have been in a relationship with a boy from hindu religion for over 7 years. I believe in Guru ji a lot and so does he. He attends gurudware and does path with me and everything. My parents don't want me to be with him because he is from different religion. I can relate to him spiritually and in all other aspects of a relationship. He is very nice at heart, humble, and hard working. My mom just saw him once and my parents don't like him because he doesn't look that nice and he's from different religion. I love my mom a lot, because the values I have today of beliving in the Waheguru, and doing path are the values she installed in me. Please help, I am so confused.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa n Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
Sat Nam. Issues of the heart are very hard to deal with. Bless you.
Religion is a very personal matter...so is marriage. Only you know what is best for you. You and your "boyfriend" must look at this issue very carefully and consciously. Really examine your life together. Ask each other many questions. How would you raise your children? What are your views of money, residence, career, religious holidays, influence of parents, etc. Sit down with one another and discuss everything. Your mother is only wanting you to be happy. You have to decide what will give you happiness.
